Key Scripture: Nehemiah 3:20

Passion is an intense urgency to accomplish your God given calling. Passion is not a personality—They had every personality working passionately. Purpose fuels passion. Passion + Purpose = Perseverance.

People follow people not plans. People want to follow people with passion. Passion without a plan will perish. Passion, people, and a plan =productivity.

We must strive and understand the proper balance between divine and human factors as we carry out our God given responsibilities.

‘But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. ‘ James 1:22

Nehemiah teaches us the importance and power of teamwork and unity.

‘And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also of the king’s words that he had spoken to me. So they said, “Let us rise up and build.” Then they set their hands to this good work.’ Nehemiah 2:18

Motivation without organization equals frustration. The strongest organizations are the simplest. Leaders need to love everybody, but must learn to move with the movers.

‘Next to them the Tekoites made repairs; but their nobles did not put their shoulders to the work of their Lord.’ Nehemiah 3:5

Good leaders establish clear lines of authority. People do what’s inspected, not what is expected. Productive leaders give support, encouragement, trust, guidelines and team work.

‘Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.’ Proverbs 12:25
