Prayers and Insights for Those Going Back to School!

Going back to school can be an exciting and nerve racking experience all at the same time. Here are 7 insights and scriptures you can pray to get through this transition.

#1 – Things are not going to be the same!

Hebrews 13:8, NCV “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Numbers 23:19-20, NCV “God is not a human being, and he will not lie. He is not a human, and he does not change his mind. What he says he will do, he does. What he promises, he makes come true. He told me to bless them, so I cannot change the blessing.”

Many things are not the same, but one thing will never change: God’s Word and His Promises. Look to God’s promises this year and it’s going to be your best year ever!

Jeremiah 29:11, NCV “I say this because I know what I am planning for you, “says the   LORD. “I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future.

#2 – Friends will come and go.

Hebrews 13:5-6, NKJV “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

So, we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

Jesus will never leave you and you can go to Him boldly for help as you need it!

Proverbs 18:24, NKJV “A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a    friend who sticks closer than a brother.

You have a friend that sticks closer than a brother and His name is Jesus!

#3 – You might be a little worried.

Philippians 4:6-7, NLT2 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Please read this verse to yourself — when by yourself read it out loud.

Isaiah 26:3, NKJV “You will keep (put your name here) in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

When we keep our mind on Jesus instead of the problem God’s promises become bigger than the problem!

#4 – Don’t worry about who likes you and who’s with you!

Romans 8:31, NKJV “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Others might be against you, but if you learn to handle it right God will fight your battles and they cannot win.

Romans 12;18-20, NKJV “If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”

2 Chronicles 26:5 (NKJV) “as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper.”

The Lord of Host is on your side.

1 Samuel 17:45-47, NKJV “Then David said to the Philistine (Goliath), “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of    hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

1 Samuel 17:49-51, NKJV “Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David.

Therefore, David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.

#5 – Learn to Love God’s Teaching and your Teachers!

Psalm 119:97-99, NCV “How I love your (GOD’S) teachings! I think about them all day long. Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, because they are mine forever. I am wiser than all my teachers, because I think about your rules.

#6 – Remember this is not your Home.

Philippians 3:20, NKJV “For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait        for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

We have dual citizenship here on earth, it will only last a short time; in heaven, it will last for eternity.

Be careful not to simply live for what you can see, it will not last; instead live for that which will last for eternity.

#7 – Obey those over you as a way of obeying God and witnessing for Him.

1 Peter 2:13 (CEV) “The Lord wants you to obey all human authorities,”

Proverbs 17:11 (TLB) “The wicked live for rebellion; they shall be severely punished.”

Romans 13:1-2 (CEV) “Obey the rulers who have authority over you. Only God can give authority to anyone, and he puts these rulers in their places of power people who oppose the authorities are opposing what God has done, and they will be punished.

God has placed your parents, teachers, and pastors over you.

As you obey them you bring honor and glory to God.

1 Timothy 2:2-4 (TLB) “Pray in this way for kings and all others who are in authority over us, or are in places of high responsibility, so that we can live in peace and quietness, spending our time in godly living and thinking much about the Lord. This is good and pleases God our Savior, for he longs for all to be saved and to understand this truth”

Important Insight: When you obey, and honor those over you God not only blesses you but it pleases God.
