We often say God’s favor is when God takes the natural and does the supernatural in a person, place, or thing that brings Honor and Glory to Him and furthers His Kingdom. Noah found favor of God and God used him supernaturally to continue the human race. That’s Favor!
Genesis 6:7-8 (NIV) “So the LORD said, ‘I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth–men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air–for I am grieved that I have made them.’ But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.” It did not mean that Noah’s life would be perfect, easy, or painless.
It does mean because of his favor with God, his wife and children were spared and saved from the flood.
When we have favor with God, it not only affects us and our relations with God but it also affects our mates, children, and grandchildren.
Genesis 6:9 (NIV) “This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God.”
Genesis 6:22 (NIV) “Noah did everything just as God commanded him.”
Noah found favor with God by walking with God on a day-to-day basis. Noah found favor with God by doing everything God said. When we have God’s favor we want to walk with God and do what He says. We don’t have to do it we get to do it!
Today’s Challenge:
- Do you see the importance of having the favor of God?
- Does this make you want to walk with God day-to-day?
