Associating with those who are blessed and highly favored will significantly increase our opportunity to have God’s favor. Two examples are Mary and Elizabeth & Abraham and Lot! In the case below, Laban was blessed because of Jacob. Genesis 30:25 (CEV) “After Joseph was born, Jacob said to Laban, ‘Release me from our agreement and let me return to my own country.’”
Genesis 30:26-27 (NKJV) “Give me my wives and my children for whom I have served you, and let me go, for you know my service which I have done for you. And Laban said to him, ‘Please stay, if I have found favor in your eyes, for I have learned by experience that the Lord has blessed me for your sake.’”
Just as Laban was blessed and favored for Jacob’s sake, Lot was blessed because of Abraham. You can be blessed and enjoy God’s favor when you have the correct association with those who have God’s favor. That’s why it is so important about who you spend your time with. I believe in individual blessings like Abraham and Jacob, but I also believe in cooperative blessings where some are blessed by association.
Today’s Challenge:
Do you feel you are the one who has God’s favor or the one who needs to associate with those who do? Do you enjoy the favor and blessings God has and wants for you? Have you ever tried associating with those who have God’s favor? If you’re a member of Journey Church, are you enjoying the cooperative blessing and favor we have as a church body? In the year 2021 alone, we enjoyed 191 new members, 103 salvations, and 95 baptisms. That is only because of the blessings and favor of God. Rejoice and be glad with us. You are part of that favor. Psalm 135:3 (CEV) “Come and shout praises. Praise the name of the LORD! He is kind and good.”
