Proverbs 12:1-2 (NKJV) “Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid. A good man obtains favor from the LORD, but He will condemn a man of wicked intentions. ”It’s sad for those loved ones we love and want to correct because we love and want the best for them, but because they are stupid, they reject it.
On the other hand, it’s so exciting to have those who love instruction and knowledge. When you meet someone who is willing not only to learn but wants to apply what they learn, they will have the favor of God and man. A good man is not a perfect man; he’s a man who loves instructions and tries to obey. None of us obey all the time. God knows our heart and He knows we want to obey even though we don’t always obey.
He calls us good men, and because of that, we obtain favor. I pray you see how important it is to love instruction! You could be missing out on some of God’s favor simply because of how you respond to correction. We all want our children to obey and respond correctly when we correct them, but if we are not responding correctly to those over us, don’t expect your children to do what you’re not doing!! Who’s over you? As we learn to respond correctly, we will obtain God’s favor!!
Today’s Challenge:
How do you respond when you are corrected?
