Job 33:26 (KJV) “He shall pray unto God, and he will be favorable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.” When I think of Job and the suffering he went through, I don’t think of a face with joy. Yet I know two women, Janet Fuqua and Jenice Ryland, both suffered from cancer, yet when I think of their names, I think of a face with joy. Janet at this point has gone to be with the Lord but she died with the favor of God.
The week before she went to be with the Lord, she was fishing with her brother-in-law, Curt, who loved her. Janet and her husband, Tony, had fished and hunted right up to the time the Lord called her home. That’s dying with the favor of God. Then, the very night she passed, her daughter was at their house sleeping in the bed as Janet drifted peacefully and quietly away into the hands of a merciful God without suffering.
In my 40 years of ministry, these two ladies are two of the greatest witnesses of God’s favor, mercy, and grace I have ever seen. My point is, when we have God’s favor, it’s not just for the good and healthy times, but the times our health is not good and other trying times. I pray for God’s favor upon me an you that others can see His joy on our face.
Today’s Challenge:
Do you think people see God’s favor on your face? Have you known people suffering but yet, because of God’s favor, they still had joy? Would you ask God to show favor to you and that others could see His joy on your face?
