Proverbs 18:24 (NKJV) “But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Our friend, God, is with us because of His Son. There’s nothing we can ever do to make Him leave us. Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV) “For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” What about when we fail? Doesn’t Jesus leave us? No! You might say, “but I don’t deserve it!” That’s right, we don’t deserve it. That’s what makes it His unmerited favor in our lives.
We don’t work to get saved; God gave His son, whose name is Immanuel, God with us. There is nothing we can do to make God love us more or less – that’s also the favor of God. Psalm 37:23-24 (NKJV) “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand. “ When we fail, Jesus is there to uphold us. Unlike some so-called friends, Jesus will never leave and will always be with you to help. What favor we have with Jesus!
Today’s Challenge:
Have you ever felt like you did or said something that caused Jesus to leave you? Have you thought about Jesus being there to catch you and hold you when you fail? Today’s Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank you that even when I fall, I will not be utterly cast down because You will uphold me with your hand. Thank you that I can always count on you to pick me up and restore me when I fail. Amen.
