Day 28: 9 Applications for a Successful Marriage

by | Beyond Vows

#1 – Go to church together every Sunday apart from vacation and emergency. Psalm 127:1 (GW) “If the LORD does not build (your marriage) the house, it is useless for the builders to work on it. If the LORD does not protect a (your marriage) city, it is useless for the guard to stay alert.”

#2 – Pray for each other every day.

Scan the QR code  and it will get you a prayer to pray for your mate for 30 days.

#3 – Write down in your notes on your phone the good things about your mate and when you get upset, read them to yourself.

#4 – Stop blaming each other! That’s an inherited sin from Adam and Eve. Stop blaming and start claiming promises.

Genesis 3:8-13 (GW) “In the cool of the evening, the man and his wife heard the LORD God walking around in the garden. So they hid from the LORD God among the trees in the garden. The LORD God called to the man and asked him, “Where are you?” sHe answered, “I heard you in the garden. I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.”  God asked, “Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat fruit from the tree I commanded you not to eat from?” The man answered, “That woman, the one you gave me, gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.” Then the LORD God asked the woman, “What have you done?” “The snake deceived me, and I ate,” the woman answered.

They blamed God instead of addressing the problem and from that time on, men and women have been fighting and blaming the other one for their problems instead addressing the real problem and claiming the promises of God that will help them overcome the problem. God has promises for our problems and wants us to meet the conditions of the promise so we can receive the provisions of the promise.

#5 – Commit to Staying Together, Praying Together, Playing

Together, Laying Together: 1 Corinthians 7:3 (GW) “Husbands and wives should satisfy each other’s {sexual} needs.”

#6 – Husbands love your wife and wives respect your husband. Ephesians 5:33 (GW) “But every husband must love his wife as he loves himself, and wives should respect their husbands.”

#7 – Have a date night once a week or every two weeks.

#8 – Go at least once a year on vacation just the two of you.

#9 – Dream together and dream big!
