I. We develop Consistency in three main areas:
1. Right habits are the key to happiness.
a. Happiness is a result of right habits practiced or repeated over a long
period of time.
2. Lead your emotions or they will lead you.
3. Our words reflect our heart at that time. (Proverbs 18:21, NKJV)
a. Our words bring life or death to the relationship.
II. Three attributes of the heart that are expressed through our words.
1. Honesty:
a. The people you lead depend upon your honesty.
b. They need to trust you.
c. If you want to lead, you have to be honest with your people.
2. Hope:
a. The people you lead need hope.
b. They need you as a leader to live, experience, and express that hope.
c. Hope is the confident expectation of a positive future in spite of your
present circumstances.
d. Your confident expectation – your hope for a positive future rests on
God’s purposes and resources, not yours.
3. Honor: (Ephesians 5:21, CEV; Psalm 31:19, NLT)
a. Speaking words that build others up, communicate value, and show
respect to you as a leader.
b. Honor – to value, respect, or highly esteem to treat as precious, weighty
or valuable.
c. Honor builds up; therefore, believes the best.
d. Without honor; to dishonor, therefore, believes the worst.
