Learn the difference between stressors and stress.
Stress is what you feel.
Stress is fearful concern experienced when life’s demands seem greater than your ability to meet them.
Stressors are what you face while stress is what you feel.
Avoid stressors:
- Do the right things and put boundaries around your life.
- Quit putting stressful people in your life that will drain you.
Learn the difference between genuine concern and fearful concern. (Psalm 55:22, NLT2; 1 Peter 5:6-7, NKJV)
Genuine concern is expressed through a dependence of God; “What will He do?”
Fearful concern is expressed through a dependence of self; “What am I going to do?”
What you do consistently greatly determines your success or failure in that area.
Genuine Concern results in peace while fearful concern results in stress, anxiety, and worry. (Matthew 11:28, NKJV)
