Leadership is influence. Everything rises and falls on leadership, everything.
Your peace can’t be dependent on what you can control. (1Corinthians 10:12, NKJV)
- The more we try to control the uncontrollable, the more out of control it gets!
- Peace is a by-product of trusting God’s promises, purpose and plan for our life.
Our confidence can’t be based on knowing the answers.
- Our desire as leaders is to solve problems, make progress, and help grow in their faith. That requires ideas and solutions (answers), which we largely express in the form of decisions.
Our success can’t be based only on traditional
- Stats like attendance, first-time visitors, offerings, etc…
- These will always be important, but culture has shifted.
- Current culture has shifted first to attending church less in general.
- Now, in these uncharted waters, we are all navigating the pros and cons of the digital church.
- The digital church is not the answer but might be an option only if we can use it to get them into a church.
Our Progress can’t be achieved without change.
- It seems like the only thing constant anymore is change, but if we resist it, we’ll get left behind in terms of the fullest potential of our churches.
- The first step is to be clear on your vision.
- Your plan will change rapidly, so stay flexible and willing to adapt.
Our growth can’t be realized without mistakes.
Two important insights to remember: This came as a result of Heaven Yes! Hell No! (Genesis 1:1, NKJV; Genesis 1:22-28, NKJV)
- One of the first things we read in the Bible is that God created us, and because we are created in God’s image we have a God-given creative ability.
- We also have a God-given desire to multiply. Not just physically, but spiritually. We want to see more people come into the family of God.
