God’s Continuous Favor

by | Leadership Lifters

Continue to ask God for His favor. (Psalm 90:16-17, NRSV)

Can we grow in God’s favor? Yes

How do we grow in God’s favor?

  1. Salvation and Wisdom. (Proverbs 8:35, NKJV, AMP)
  2. Wisdom is knowing the mind of God in a matter and then knowing how to apply it on a day-to-day basis.
  3. Wisdom is what began to change a problem into a purpose. (Proverbs 4:7, NKJV; NLT, Proverbs 16:16, MSG)

How do we get wisdom?

  1. Wisdom begins when we ask God for it. (James 1:5, NKJV, CEV; 1 Kings 3:9-10, CEV; 1 Kings 3:12, CEV)
  2. God’s Word.
    • It’s important to know God’s Word.
    • The more of God’s Word you know, the more of God’s will you know. (Psalm 119:97-99, NKJV)
    • If wisdom is knowing the mind of God in a matter, understanding is how to apply it. We need both. (Ecclesiastes 8:1, TLB)

   3. Obeying God’s Word activates favor.

    • “God blesses those who obey Him.” (Proverbs 16:20, LB)
    • “God saves those who obey Him.” (Psalm 7:10, GN)
    • “The Lord watches over those who obey Him.” (Psalm 33:18, GN)
    • “The Lord takes care of those who obey Him.” (Psalm 37:18, GN)
    • “You help all those who obey You.” (Psalm 7:9, NLT)
    • “God gives us what we ask for because we obey His commands.” (1 John 3:22, NCV)
    • “Always obey the Lord and you will be happy.” (Proverbs 28:14, GN)
    • “Keep God’s laws and you will live longer.” (Proverbs 19:16, GN)
    • “Those who obey the Lord lack nothing good.” (Psalm 34:10, GN)
    • “Those who obey Him have all they need.” (Psalm 34:9, GN)
    • You will “live in perfect freedom.” (Psalm 119:45, GN)
    • You will “have greater wisdom.” (Psalm 119:100, GN)
    • You will “dwell in security and peace.” (Proverbs 1:33, NAB)
    • You will “be prosperous and successful.” (Joshua 1:8, GN)
    • You will “be great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:19, NCV)
    • You will “be rewarded.” (Proverbs 13:13, NCV)

4. Look for His favor, be aware of it, and accept it. (Hebrews 11:6, NKJV, CEV)
