Fixable vs. Forgivable

by | Leadership Lifters

“Satan wants us to think our past is fixable; God wants us to know our past is forgivable.”

The Deception of “Fixing” the Past

Satan’s Lie:We can fix our past by trying harder, covering up, or denying mistakes. This keeps us in guilt and striving.

Scripture:Romans 3:10– “There is no one righteous, not even one.”

God’s Truth: Forgiveness Through Christ

Forgiveness, Not Fixing:God doesn’t ask us to fix our past. Through Jesus’s sacrifice, He offers forgiveness.

Scripture:Romans 8:1– “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Freedom in Forgiveness:Embracing God’s forgiveness frees us from guilt.
Isaiah 43:18– “Forget the former things…See, I am doing a new thing!”

Practical Application

Confess and Release: In prayer, give your past to God. Write down what you’re holding onto, pray, then tear it up.

Embrace God’s Truth: Meditate on forgiveness verses like Psalm 103:12 – “As far as the east is from the west…”

Let Go of “Fixing”: Remind yourself: “I am forgiven, not because I fixed it, but because of God’s grace.”

Key Takeaway: Satan’s lie is that we can fix our past. God’s truth is that our past is forgiven through Christ.

Final Thought: Stop striving to fix what God has already forgiven. Embrace His grace and walk in freedom.
