Just because God has blessed us in a great and might way does not mean that our job is done. As leaders, we need to be faithful in the little things before we can be faithful in the big things.
‘His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ ‘ Matthew 25:21
‘He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own? “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”’ Luke 16:10-13
We limit God’s true riches in our life by the way we handle our money. If we are not faithful with the money God has allowed us to manage, then why should He give us more? If God was to look at the way you spend your money would He say you are loyal to Him or to your money? God placed on Nehemiah’s heart to number the people, count them, and get their name. Every number has a name and every name matters to God, and if they matter to God they need to matter to us.
‘And Jesus went on to say, “And so I tell you: make friends for yourselves with worldly wealth, so that when it gives out, you will be welcomed in the eternal home. Whoever is faithful in small matters will be faithful in large ones; whoever is dishonest in small matters will be dishonest in large ones. If, then, you have not been faithful in handling worldly wealth, how can you be trusted with true wealth? And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to someone else, who will give you what belongs to you? “No servant can be the slave of two masters; such a servant will hate one and love the other or will be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” ‘ Luke 16:9-13
