WEEK 7: The Gift of Peace

‘ “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid. ‘John 14:27

‘ “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”’ John 16:33

‘ I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” Jesus answered them, “Do you finally believe? In fact, you’re about to make a run for it—saving your own skins and abandoning me. But I’m not abandoned. The Father is with me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”’ John 16:33 MSG

God has given us the gift of peace because in the world we will have troubles, tribulation, burdens, and difficulties, but He wants to remind us and us remind Him that He has overcome the world and can give us peace if we choose.

Is there areas in your life today that you are having troubles and need to remind yourself and God that He has overcome the world and can give you peace?

What area do you need peace the most today?

Having peace in a situation may not mean that the storm isn’t surrounding you, it just means that you aren’t the one sailing the ship, Jesus is. It may seem that we are surrounded, but we are in reality surrounded by Him.

The peace of GOD allows us to remain calm during all circumstances, to rejoice and praise in the middle of our hardship. Our salvation allows us to have peace with GOD, our sins forgiven. Perfect peace or “Shalom” the Hebrew Bible translation, comes when our focus is off our problems, and constantly on CHRIST. It takes great Faith to do this, and when we do, GOD shows strong in our lives.

Trails and problems and evils will not prevail, unless you get distracted , so keep eye and mind focused on the one whose has the power , can heal the pain, who gives you peace and from whom blessings flow. Your picture if the perfect solution to your problems may not be the path or outcome that Jesus intended. For in despire , you may rise to a higher victory that what was ever imagined. Peace in the storm, peace while you wait, peace when there is no worldly peace, how many of us truly seek peace? For to seek peace , we must seek him, know him, trust him, and give “it” to him, especially when it’s to hard for us to handle.

The peace that GOD gives us isn’t like any other peace that we may find in the natural. The peace that the world offers us is only temporary. If we aren’t careful we can fall into a trap that has us replacing GOD with things that are of the world and not Him. He tells us that His peace isn’t fragile like the peace this world offers meaning it is everlasting and has no end.

Prayers for sister’s family. two adult men in wheelchairs with upper respiratory infection. The oldest son is a special needs person (angel walking on earth)and can’t take care of himself and has a upper respitory infection and Dad is not feeling well, with fever probably upper respitory infection. My only sister 77 yrs old that I have left of 3 sister’s , she is showing signs of Alzheimer’s.
She is so stressed and wore out!

Please pray for peace & strength to accept whatever God decides! Please end their suffering if it be Gods will.
And I guess I could use some prayers for peace and strength too!
Thanks so much for your prayers
