WEEK 11: The Law of Peace

Great peace have they who love Your law; nothing shall offend them or make them stumble. Psalm 119:165

‘Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, ‘ Romans 5:1

The first peace we all need is with God, without peace with God, no real peace is possible—the only way to have peace with God is to put your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ!

God wants us to have great peace with Him, ourselves, families, churches, brethrens, and even our enemies. To have this great peace we have to learn to love and apply God’s Word (The Law).

Are you at peace with God because you have put your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ? What area do you need great peace in today? Would you be willing to apply God’s Word in the area that you need great peace?

In Romans 5:8, Paul tells us God demonstrated His love for us this way: “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Jesus’ obedience displayed grace in an amazing way. Jesus poured out His life for the forgiveness of our sins so we could be reconciled with God. With Jesus we can experience peace with God and hope in every situation.

Having a relationship with Jesus doesn’t mean life is always easy. Rather, it provides us with the ability to face anything that comes our way. We can have hope in all situations, confident of God’s grace, His faithfulness, and His willingness to do whatever it takes to restore our relationship with Him.

Psalms 119:165 is teaching that there is abundant safety in the scriptures to keep us from stumbling or failing, and those who place their faith in GODS law and instruction will live by a higher principal and on a higher plain, allowing for a great peace that is not of this world.

When my brothers and I were younger, my mom used to have us read scripture aloud. Like, have us as a regular consistent thing, repeat them aloud. As a kid who overthought everything I didn’t understand why. Why it wouldn’t just be simpler just to read them to ourselves. It wasn’t until I grasped the concept of making declarations that I would understand. She had us read and repeat them out loud so they would become a part of us.

The thing is that scripture is literally the Word of God. If we want the Peace of God, we need to apply the words of the One who’s peace we are wanting. The Word of God can’t be something that we look at for a second and go about our marry way. It has to be a part of us. His word needs to be in us not only reminding God of what He said and who He is, but reminding ourselves of who He is, reminding ourselves of our justification through Christ. When we start doing that, and praying that God help us in those areas, when can get that Peace.
