WEEK 8: Remind God that He is Our Peace

‘For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, ‘ Ephesians 2:14

‘And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.’ Romans 16:20

In troubled times we have to remind God that is what He said; “Jesus, You said You are my peace and I need that peace right now. God, Your Word says You are the ‘God of Peace,’ please crush Satan under my feet today.”

Today if you are struggling with peace, write these two verses down and tape them to the bottom of your shoes. Then, remember every time you step God is crushing Satan under your feet and ask Him to give you peace and He will.

Ephesians 2:14
For He himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,

God brings peace where there was once strife, and kindness where there was once animosity.

We always hear that you need to ‘stand on the promise of God.’ I like the physical representation of this metaphorical reference. If God is above us, then it doesn’t matter what is below us.
I just want to stand on the promise of Ephesians 2:14 right now. All I see across my facebook is a bunch of people divided on different current events. We all could use God breaking down some walls and teaching us how to love each other again.

One of the names God is Jehovah Shalom. Shalom means peace, so God through Jesus is our peace that passes all understanding. He guards our hearts and minds in the midst of any storm as long as we keep our minds on him. Calling on the name of Jesus brings peace and comfort.

Peace will never truly be achieved apart from Christ. It is a God-sized hole in our soul that only he can heal.

I had a conversation with a friend about the Jewish religion, and they believe that Jesus couldn’t have been the Messiah, because when the Messiah comes, He will bring peace. We can look around the world and see that there is clearly no peace. But though there may never be peace in this world, we can have peace through Jesus. He brought peace with man and God through His sacrifice.

“Peace doesn’t mean that you’re in a place with no noise, trouble or hard work. it means to be in the midst of those things, and still be calm in your heart.”

One of the things that we need to do is make a declaration. Declaring that God is our peace. I don’t do that enough. It goes into not only reminding Him of who He is, but it serves as a reminder to myself that God is my peace.

GOD is all inclusive, allowing us to no longer be separated from HIM through the sacrifice of our savior JESUS CHRIST. Satan has been defeated in the death and reserection of JESUS, and continues to be defeated by JESUS through Christians who speak the word of GOD.
