Philippians 2:3, NKJV “Don’t do anything from selfish ambition or vain conceit. Instead, be humble and give more honor to others than to yourself.”
1 Timothy 4:16, NRSV “Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; continue to these thing, for in doing this you will save both yourself and your hearers.”
Humble people build other people up; great people make people feel great; little people belittle people.
Focus on being the right person, instead of trying to change the other person. The only person you can change is you; in the process of changing you, it will then help them. Begin to fix your hopes and dreams on God and seek to please Him instead of others. Most of us don’t see ourselves as we are, but as we want to be, others see us as we are. Develop the courage to be the right friend; first Jesus needs to be your Friend that sticks closer than a brother. Loyalty is the key to healthy relationships.
