Week 7: Fasting for Spiritual Breakthrough

Isaiah 58:5 NKJV “Is it a fast that I have chosen, A day for a man to afflict his soul (bring about a burden)?

The Key to Spiritual Breakthrough:
Have a burden that is great. Activate the burden by fasting on purpose with a purpose. It’s our way of coming to God for the answers and relief needed.

Nehemiah 1:4 NKJV “So it was, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.”

1 John 5:14-15 NKJV “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”

Do you have a burden, problem or fear that you need to fast and pray about? There are many types of fasting, simply put , fasting is giving up something you love for something or someone you love more!

Did you experience a conviction, challenge or a commitment you need to make from this devotion?

Until I became a member of Journey Church, I didn’t understand the significance or purpose of fasting. When we voluntarily go without food in order to focus on prayer and fellowship with GOD on those things that bring honor and glorify HIM, then that really gets GODS attention, all of which is according to GODS will.
