Week 5: How to Know God’s Will for Your Life

Ephesians 2:10 NKJV “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

To know God’s Will for our life, He has to be the Center of our life. We will be God centered or self-centered. God is more concerned with our character than our comfort. What will be our contribution to further His Kingdom? What good works are you doing that helps further God’s Kingdom?

Read Ephesians 2:10 again in the AMP version.

Are you living the good life God has prearranged for you? Did you experience a conviction, challenge or a commitment you need to make from this devotion?

  1. God is more concerned with our character than our comfort. I always say God never calls your within your comfort zone. God loves to push you out of where you’re comfortable and make you grow. Have you ever grown in your faith by staying where your at? That’s literally the opposite of growing. God cares more about the fruit we are producing than our comfort zone.

  2. After reading this, I needed to examine my life by asking a question: “Am I sacrificing my character to preserve my comfort?” I need to challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone in order for the Lord to push my character.

  3. GOD has placed us where we are, and has called us to serve where we are. None of these things are by accident. GOD reveals to us that the only things that matter, are those that have eternal significants. All other things will not last, thus leaving us empty. We should seek prayer daily, which will strengthen our relationship with GOD, giving us insight to our purpose and GODS will in our life.

  4. I love to think of God as the writer, producer and creator of this amazing series. In a good series, there’s tension within story arcs that cause characters to grow and progress. They don’t just sit around and stay the same (if the series is a good one). That character will go through some things that will push him/her and will cause that character to progress. And that’s the same in our lives. I’ve heard it said once that “there’s no growth in the comfort zone and no comfort in the growth zone”. God didn’t write the narrative in our lives so that we would be comfortable, but he wants us to grow in character. Question: What are you doing? Who are you becoming? And is your doing surpassing who you are becoming?

  5. We get insight into the the will of God for our lives through Influences of others, Life situations, Leading of the Spirit. But, without the first & foremost key to the WILL of God for our lives, we will make ILL decisions instead of decisions that align to God’s WILL.
