WEEK 1: How to Have the Best Year Ever

Matthew 6:33 NKJV But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

3 Steps to Have the Best Year Ever
1. Know where you come from, where you are, where you want to go, and how to get there.
2. Intentionally prioritize spiritual growth.
3. Happiness is a by-product of seeking Jesus.

2 Chronicles 25:5b NKJV
and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.

If you don’t know where you are at and where you want to go, you will feel lost. Take some time to dream and plan.

How can I better spiritually prioritize my life this year? Are you happy? If not, why not? Did you experience a conviction, challenge or a commitment you need to make from this devotion?

I can better spiritually prioritize my life this year by looking at what is really important and not just striving to reach goals.

I experienced a challenge to grow my relationships with people around more.

I think this is an awesome verse to start the New Years off in the right direction. Going forward this year when I have to make a decision, I want to adopt the practice of asking myself first, does this decision bring me closer to GOD or farther from HIM. The things of GOD will last whereas the things of the world will tarnish, rust and eventually perish.

Know where you come from- Its important to know how far you have come and how far you have grown.
Know Where you are- if you don’t know where you are you won’t know how to move forward.
Where you want to go- Knowing where you want to be or where you want to go will help you want to keep reaching that goal and not give in because you are wanting to become the best version of yourself.
How to get there- Make a plan. You can’t just expect growth to happen, you have to go out of your comfort zone and stick to your plan.

I will take time today to plan my goals for 2019.

Happiness is a by-product of seeking Jesus… Happiness is not about your situation or season of life but true happiness comes from Jesus. I love 2 Chronicles 22:5b because I have truly experienced it in my own life. All we have to do is seek Jesus and He will prosper US. Having the best year will have to do with how much time you spend with God and knowing where you come from, where you are at now, and where you want to be and constantly pursuing Jesus through it.

A great way to kick off the year by reminding us to know what we are supposed to be doing now and where we need to be headed. By knowing God’s plan for our lives and loving Him daily, it will produce joy in our live like we have never experienced before
