Genesis 13:8-9 NKJV “So Abram said to Lot, “Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren. 9 Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me. If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.”
The hardest people to show mercy to is those closest to you. The most mature person is the first one to acknowledge and take action when there is a problem. Lot was looking at earthly opportunity instead of obedience. How you deal with disagreements with those closest to you will determine the relationship you have with them.
The first sign of immaturity is when you think you are smarter than God. Problems we encounter sometimes are nothing more than a process God allows to teach us to handle His promises. Prosperity without process equals pride.
What person did God bring to your mind that you might need to show mercy to? Is there someone close to you that you need to forgive or ask forgiveness? Did you experience a conviction, challenge or a commitment you need to make from this devotion?
