Faithfulness is multiplying what you’ve been given. (Matthew 25:14-30)
• Faithful in the small things you have been entrusted to—You will be given more!
• We are not to just maintain—God expects us to enlarge what we’ve been given.
• God give us the starting point—Our legacy will be determined by what we do with what we have been entrusted to.
3 E’s in Expanding your leadership.
Enlarge your vision.
• Is God pleased with your vision?
• Your vision should be inspired with what God has planted inside of you.
• When people hear your vision people should know the size and scale of your God.
• Our Vision should keep us awake at night and energize us during the day! (PASSION)
• To enlarge your vision requires staying focused, having eyes to see opportunities around you, and cannot be done by yourself!
Empowering your people.
• Leadership is all about taking wise chances and giving people opportunities.
• Your leadership skill will be determined by your empowerment abilities.
• 3 things in to avoid in empowering your people.
- • Focus on building character before you empower them; People don’t fail because of lack of knowledge they fail because lack of character.
- • Empowerment has to be through relationship –without it cannot know their character.
- • Make sure you have agreed right outcomes and you have the right systems to measure them—not controlling the people but controlling the outcome.
• With empowerment you can have shared ownership and exponential growth.
Embrace Risk
• Taking risk = Taking steps of Faith; Without Faith it is impossible to please God.
• Paradigms to Embracing Risk:
• See risk as your friend to love not as your enemy to be feared. (2 Timothy 1:7)
• When we stop taking risk we reduce the potential of enlargement.
• See comfort and safety as your enemies.
• In Leadership risk, comfort, and enemies do not co-exist.
• By not taking the risk who is missing out on the blessings in life.
• Don’t let the earthly practical prevent you from having heavenly possibilities. (Eph. 3:20)
• Don’t have everything figured out before you take a step.
• Increase your pain threshold.
• Don’t take your dreams and talents to heaven, heaven does not need them.
• Don’t procrastinate—don’t have regrets when you get into heaven.
