Things to Remember About Leadership

by | Radical Leadership

1. Older can be Awesome.  (Psalms 71:18, NLT; Isaiah 46:4, NLT; Psalms 92:14)

2. Life many times is not so much about age as it is the stage.

Stages of Life:

       1.    Movement – Experience depths of Movements of God.

       2.    Museum – Stagnant –living off past experience with God.

       3.    Mausoleum – Dying

Question is not what is your age, but what is your stage.

If it’s any stage but the Movement of God you need to ask God how you can get to that stage—no one can do this for you but you!

3. Focus on the Mission more than Tradition. (Matthew 12:10, NKJV)

4. Legalism is creating requirements for salvation beyond repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

5. Guilt is the wrong response to sin and conviction—Is there any guilt you need to get rid of or confess?

6. Mercy is undeserved forgiveness and unearned kindness—It is God giving what we need instead of what we deserve; This is easy to receive, but hard to give.

7. Grass Hopper MYTH is: When you falsely believe, your problem is too big for you and God.  (Numbers 13:33, NKJV)

8. Hope is the confident expectation of a positive future in spite of your present circumstances.

9. When we can’t feel the truth, we have to learn to fight to believe the truth.

10. Every time you face Opposition—look for the Opportunity.

11. Self-Examination is the best Explanation of what the real problem in us. (Luke 6:41)

  • Do you have a promise for your problem?
  • Are you meeting the condition of the problem?

12. What is it we are trying to accomplish in Life?

  • The simple answer is this: Gain Control
  • Not of other people or of all the circumstances or even all of the outcomes.
  • The only thing you can ever control—is YOURSELF!
  • Simply put the more we try to control circumstances the more we get out of control—we need to give God control.

13. Excuses for the most part are nothing more than self-justification for failure.

14. We don’t see people as they are—we see people as we are.

15. Do you apply this: The only way to get over what others say about you—is to get under what God says about you.  (Who You Are in Christ)

16. When you are using your gift and humbly serve the Lord, you will be energized, not paralyzed.

17. Crazies are often put into our lives to build Character:

  • When we are driving ourselves crazy God’s teaching us to Trust Him.
  • When others are driving us crazy God’s often teaching us Patience.

18. Three-point definition of Spiritual Maturity:

  • Spiritual Intimacy –your heart experience with God.
  • Biblical Knowledge—the Truth embraced in your mind from the Word of God.
  • Holy Obedience –your will, that is, what you do—surrendering to the will and ways of God.
  • Only time with God and Obedience to God’s Word will bring Spiritual Maturity and only Spiritual Maturity can bring lasting success!

19. The longer I avoid a problem the bigger the problem gets.

20. Pain is part of the progress.

21. Often the difference between where I am and where God wants me to be is the pain I’m willing to endure.

22. God is always faithful.

23. Growth =Change; Change = Loss; Loss = Pain  (Growth = Pain)

24. You’ll only grow to your threshold of pain.

25. If you want to grow you have to learn to raise your threshold of pain.

26. If you want your organization or church to grow you have to help them raise and understand their threshold of pain must grow.

27. To go where God wants us to go will take quality, capability, and faithful ladder holders.

28. Learn that pain can be your friend, not your enemy.

29. Leadership is brutal and beautiful.

30. Everything rises and falls on leadership.
