To make breaking up hard, you must pursue staying in love with your spouse.
Three types of love:
- Eros Love – an attraction love; sexually attractive and active.
- Phileo Love – a friendship love; a companionship.
- Agape Love – an unselfish love; a Godly love.
Many times, there’s a pursuit for what is missing.
What you don’t care for, someone or something else often will.
It would be best if you passionately pursued your spouse now.
Romans 12:9-13, NLT “Don’t just pretend to love others. Love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.”
Three ways to pursue your mate and build friendship:
- Show genuine affection.
- Honor them.
- Don’t be lazy.
The Challenge:
Pursue your spouse by showing genuine affection.
