Acts 3:19 (NKJV) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord…”
If you did the offending, ask forgiveness, and repent. You will receive a great time of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. It did not say the one offended will always forgive you, but it does say that if we will obey God, He will give us that great time of refreshing.
Refreshing – Recovery – Revival
The first example of someone getting offended (Genesis 3:1-19)
God had a plan for marriage and created them both in His image. God wanted what was best for both of them and Satan had a plan to destroy them.
John 10:10 (NKJV)
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
God had a plan to destroy Satan. Satan’s plan was to get the woman offended at God. (Thinking God was holding out on her) Once she got offended, her view of God was clouded.
Adam & Eve used fig leaves to cover up- they tried to fix it themselves. Adam blamed the circumstances and Eve tried to play the victim card. From that time on men and women have been getting offended and blaming each other for the problems they are having instead of quickly asking and giving forgiveness.
Satan is a liar and has come to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. Remember, when you get offended by wrong expectations, Satan can use that. Jesus came that they may have life more abundantly. We can have an abundant life by allowing the truth to set us free.
